Dear "Scared of Needles" People,

This letter is for all of you who have thought about acupuncture, but were reluctant to try it because it involved the "n" word- needles!

I suffered a neck injury several years ago and now every 6-12 months I strain my neck and pull my muscles out of whack, which is usually caused by lifting something the wrong way.  So, who do you suppose I call?  Well, of course- It's Dr. Schadow.  He's my favorite chiropractor with whom I have now seen for over 10 years and am the most comfortable with when it comes to acupuncture and the immediate positive results I benefit from.  

For the record when I throw my neck out, it's SEVERE.  I can hardly turn my neck one way or another, nor can I lift my head up or down.  It's MAJOR.  But, all of the pain, believe it or not, is usually cleared up within 1-2 weeks, Yeah, I know what you're thinking.  But, I go for the "gorilla chiro-tactics."  See, I don't have time to be down for the count.  So when I see Dr. Schadow, I say- "give me the works" to which, the works for me are in order:  30 minute massage therapy, electromuscular stimulation (electric pads), acupuncture, and finally hands on adjustments or activator.  I see him 3 times the first week, then can usually back off to every 2-3 days the second week and by the 3rd week, I'm all better. 

Before incorporating the acupuncture therapy, my relief results took anywhere between 4 and 6 weeks.  Which, of course, I absolutely have no time for.  I don't have time to take off from work, nor do I have time to be in such pain to drive in rush hour traffic, especially in winter.  

I highly recommend acupuncture therapy, and I would definitely couple it with a massage therapy session with the therapist.  I can't say enough great things about Dr. Schadow!  When I break, he puts me back together as good as new.
